Ideas and Inspiration for Music Magazine

I have had various ideas for my music magazine of which I have come up with by researching other music magazines of a similar genre to my own; Indie Rock. I have studied magazines such as Q, NME and Kerrang! all of which are magazines of a similar genre and target audience to what i plan my own magazine to be. By studying these magazines I feel I have an advanced insight and understanding of the codes and conventions of a magazine in this genre and have also found inspiration for the layouts of the various pages I must create of my magazine, discovered a trend in colour scheme of magazines of such genre (red, white and black are frequently used), I have found that a lot of close-up/medium shots are used on the front cover of such magazines and direct address is frequently used and have discovered the way in which a double page spread is set out and what is included. All of this research has filled me with ideas and inspiration for my music magazine and I feel confident in beginning to make it with all of the knowledge I now have on the codes and conventions of a magazine of this genre.
